In 2015, two best friends, Allie and TJ, Juniors at Tulane University, are studying abroad in France. The days are filled with incredible cuisine, history, and the beauty of a culture that prioritizes savoring every moment. Life is rich and unhurried. They absorb the French way of being—sitting at cafés for hours, engaging in deep conversations, and being fully present. Fast forward a few years. Graduation has come and gone, and the two best friends are now working in corporate America. They’re part of the hustle—meetings, deadlines, long hours, and very little rest. America moves fast, always pressing forward, never stopping. But something’s missing. It’s not fulfilling, and the memories of their time in France linger as a reminder that life could be different. It is now 2023. TJ and Allie make a bold decision—to move back home to St. Paul, Minnesota. They realize there is so much culture to engage with and are still longing for community.

Here, they begin to ask some big questions: How can we bring the essence of community and the culture of France to our hometown? How can we create a space where people slow down, connect, and live in a way that’s contrary to the life they know now in America?
